Days of Our Lives...in Starbucks Part 1

Starbucks is a busy place full of all types of people.  There are students diligently studying, families coming from a busy sports game, and the country's white-collar workers deciding on their next business proposal.  However there was one group in particular that intrigued me...

The group had three college looking guys: Caleb, John, and Lucas.  They were sitting on that lounge area (you know what I mean), just chilling out.  Caleb came in first and awkwardly waited for the others.  Maybe they haven’t seen each other in a while, but once the other two came, I realized they only came to just socialize.  First of all if you want to just talk, why are you at Starbucks?  Why not go to a bar or dinner I don’t know?  Maybe you can be loud somewhere else.  Okay second just talking is whatever I guess, but none of them even bought a drink…okay then back to first question…why are you here?  The three get into a convo about Black Friday shopping.  Caleb starts ranting how annoying it was that all the good stuff is sold on Thursday.  Apparently he wants to sleep and now he has to be out shopping with the fam.  He said they should just call it “Black…day before...Friday.”  John is the weird one.  All he does is complain about the fact that he doesn’t want to work on Black Friday, and he is so annoyed.  Okay…how many times do you have to complain?  He said he didn’t even like shopping so why does it even matter?  Lucas also thought it was just a waste of time with too many crazy people.  Then there’s John again still complaining about having to work.  Can you stop? What is the big…STOP!  This random girl (lets call her…Jules) just walked in and hugged John.  It all makes sense now once she starts talking…He calls her “his girl” but obviously she’s not “his” if he didn’t even have the guts to kiss her when she walked in.  Apparently she wanted to spend Black Friday together…but guess not anymore…sorry John I guess.  Lucas leaves.  Now everything is making sense…except one thing.  Why are they at Starbucks still?  What a low class date don’t you think?   The three talk for a while and then Jules finally says something useful to Caleb. “Wait you work her?” NOW I GET IT!  They were there waiting for Caleb’s “girl” to get off her shift.  They work at Starbucks so it’s just normal to hang out here.  Plus they’re tired of Starbucks drinks so they didn’t get one.  Well I don’t know what happened to Lucas, but wow I didn’t realize Starbucks was 24/7 soap opera.
